Rental Agreement: If you rent a storage unit, your rental is governed by our separate Rental Agreement Packet (PDF). If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement controls.

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the J&S Self Storage website and any related online services (collectively, the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms.
If you rent a storage unit, your rental will also be governed by a separate Rental Agreement/Lease. If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement controls.
1. Acceptance of Terms
You agree to use the Site lawfully and not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or accounts
- Disrupt or interfere with site operation or security
- Submit false or misleading information
- Use the Site to transmit unlawful, harmful, or abusive content
2. Accuracy of Information
We try to keep information accurate, but the Site may contain errors or outdated information (including pricing, unit availability, and features). We may correct errors and update information at any time without notice.
3. Reservations, Pricing, and Availability
If the Site allows reservations or rentals:
- Unit availability is not guaranteed until confirmed
- Rates and promotions may change
- Final pricing and terms are governed by the Rental Agreement and facility policies
4. Payments
If you make payments online, payments may be processed by third-party providers. You agree to provide accurate billing information and authorize charges according to your selected services.
5. Third-Party Links
The Site may include links to third-party websites or services. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, J&S Self Storage is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site.
7. Storage Unit Contents Disclaimer (Important)
J&S Self Storage is not responsible for the contents stored in any rental unit.
This includes, without limitation, loss of or damage to property due to:
- Theft, vandalism, or break-ins
- Fire, smoke, water, flooding, leaks, or weather events
- Mold, mildew, corrosion, pests, or vermin
- Power outages or mechanical failures (if any)
- Customer error (improper packing/storage, leaving unit unlocked, etc.)
You are solely responsible for:
- Choosing what you store
- Properly securing and protecting your property
- Maintaining any insurance you deem appropriate for your stored items
Nothing on this Site creates a bailment or makes us an insurer of your property. Any protections, responsibilities, or limits related to stored property will be set out in your Rental Agreement and applicable law.
9. Prohibited or Restricted Storage
You agree not to store prohibited items, including (without limitation):
- Illegal goods or stolen property
- Hazardous, toxic, or flammable materials
- Explosives, firearms or ammunition where prohibited by law or facility rules
- Perishable food, live animals, or anything that creates odors, infestations, or health hazards
We may require removal of prohibited items and may take action as allowed under the Rental Agreement and law.
10. Intellectual Property
All Site content (text, logos, graphics) is owned by or licensed to J&S Self Storage. You may not use it without our written permission, except for normal personal browsing.
11. Privacy
Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
